March Meeting and Program: March 25, 7 p.m.
Program: "Bite-Sized Art" by Sandy Lynn
For the last five years, artist Sandy Lynn has committed to writing at least one sentence of a story and one drawing every single day--no exceptions for holidays, migraines, sickness, or general apathy. Magic gets made 15 minutes at a time, no matter how badly it sucks in the beginning. Lynn will speak about making artwork in small bites, and making art a priority in one's life.
Lynn is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, illustrator, and designer. She has worked in theaters across the US as a scenic designer, scenic artist, and properties artisan. She is an alumni of Artist INC Advanced Kansas City and The Illustration Academy. She has received two ACTF Kennedy Center Commendations for Achievement in Scenic Design, the Mordecai Gorelik Award for Excellence in Scenic Design, and was included in the Toronto World Stage Design Exhibition. Her writing has been published in regional journals, including Kansas City Voices Vol. 14. She has an MFA in Production Design from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
